Western and wildlife artist Amanda Cowan has been expressing herself through art all her life. When she was a young girl she spent most of her time outdoors drawing the horses, cows and any wildlife that she came across. She paints in both oils and watercolors. In her twenty years of doing shows, a few that she has been part of include The Russell Auction, the Out West Art Show, Legends West, and Best of the West, all in Great Falls Montana, Cowgirl Up! in Wickenburg, Arizona, Art of the Cowgirl in Queen Creek, Arizona, The Phippen Art Show, in Prescott, Arizona, America’s Horse in Art at the American Quarter Horse Museum in Amarillo, Texas where she won the Steeldust Award in 2018, the San Dimas Western Art Show, in San Dimas, California, and the Western Art Roundup, in Winnemucca, Nevada, where she won the Peoples Choice Award in 1997. She is represented by Western Skies Fine Art Gallery in Afton, Wyoming. She has been featured in Art of the West magazine, and Southwest Art Magazine. She is a signature member of Women Artists of the West. Her art is in private collections in Korea, Australia, Canada, France and the US. She lives with her husband on the family ranch in southwest Wyoming, where she rides horses checking cows all summer, helps feed their angus cows all winter, has the day shift by herself during calving, and never runs out of amazing inspiration.
